Choosing Your Little

Our job at Good Friend is to assist in picking a child from our waiting list that would make a good fit for you.

Some criteria we look at is geographic location, interest, personality, preference, family dynamic. However, the decision of which child you meet is up to you.

After we present you with a short non-identifying biography of a few possible children, you and the case manager discuss who might be the best fit. Once you choose, we set up a meeting with that child’s parent

Together in the Good Friend office, you, the case manager and parent meet. Its a time for you to have an open dialogue with the parent to see if the child is someone you can see yourself enjoying time with. It’s also a time for the parent to decide if you are the right one to mentor their child.

After that meeting Good Friend will call to see what you have decided.
